Patient Advisory Council

As part of our strategic plan, Magruder Hospital strives to continually enhance our patient experience through a patient centered approach. To that end, we created a Patient Advisory Council in 2018.  This group partners patients and families with members of the healthcare team to provide guidance on how to improve the overall healthcare experience. We invite staff, patients and families to serve on this committee to ensure their point of view, perspective, and experience are not only heard, but also integrated into the service and quality improvements of the organization. Members of the Patient Advisory Council have staggered terms, so we periodically seek new members to the council. The process involves the interested individual filling out an application and returning it to Magruder Hospital. Applications are reviewed and maintained until there is a need for additional members, at which time the individual may be called for an interview.

Qualifications for Patient Advisory Council membership:

  1. As a member of the Patient Advisory Council, the patient or family member must have previously received services at Magruder Hospital.
  2. Willing to commit to attend quarterly meetings.
  3. Willing to share and actively participate in moving the agenda of the council.
  4. Willing to serve a two-year or three-year term.
