Josh Spayde Named Director of Pharmacy

Earlier this year, Joshua Spayde was named the Director of Pharmacy at Magruder Hospital.  Spayde began at Magruder in February 2022 and became a Clinical Pharmacist in July 2022. 

Spayde attended the University of Toledo for his Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Pharmacy. He was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UT and completed a Pharmacy Residency at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, OH.  While going to college, Spayde also worked as a Pharmacy Intern and Pharmacy Technician at retail pharmacies in Ohio. 

As the Director of Pharmacy at Magruder, Spayde is in charge of the inpatient pharmacy that handles the medication needs for patients on our MedSurg floor, Surgery and Oncology, as well as the Retail Pharmacy located at the end of the building after the ER. 

In July, Spayde was awarded the 2024 IPPE Preceptor of the Year award from the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Only one such award is given each year and he was chosen over hundreds of other preceptors.  Students nominate their preceptors for this award through testimonials of their experiences.
